2003 Annual Report of the Eastern District of
Missouri
Branch
of the Historical Society of the
United States Courts in the Eighth Circuit
Our branch had a meeting on April 30, 2003, and is planning to form
subcommittees focusing on specific projects such as video interviews
with senior judges, a book on the history on the Eastern District
of Missouri, assistance with the Learning Center at the Thomas
F. Eagleton Courthouse,
and development of projects focusing on famous personalities,
notable cases, and the architecture of courthouses in the
Eastern District of Missouri.
United States Judge Edward L. Filippine made an informative report at
the meeting on the development of the Learning Center at the Thomas
F. Eagleton Courthouse. A number of members have expressed interest in
working on subcommittees, and 260 individuals have returned
correspondence expressing an interest in the work of the branch.
We are looking forward to further activity in the coming year.
