Veterans Resources
In honor of the many veterans who work in the 8th Circuit...

History: The Library of Congress has created a wonderful online resource called the Veterans History Project. The site compiles first-hand accounts of those who served in 20th century wars. Read stories, view excerpts from a forthcoming book, search the database, or submit your own story. (If you plan to submit your story, be sure to read their guidelines.)

Legislation: Find links to proposed and recent legislation on the web sites for the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs and the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. You can use GovTrack's Senate and House pages to monitor legislation.

Agencies/Offices: There is a wealth of info available from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The National Institute of Health maintains a page of resources about veteran and military health issues. See this directory for more organizations. And this list wouldn't be complete without mentioning the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Books of Interest: Veterans Benefits Manual, held by St. Louis at KF 7703.99 .V47; Federal Veterans Laws, Rules, and Regulations, held by St. Louis at KF 7703.99 .F44; The library's Archives maintains a number of items related to the military service of 8th Circuit personnel - for a list, search our online catalog with phrases like "world war."
