Google!
Are you using Google to its full capability? Check out these features. Copy/paste the separate examples into Google to see how they actually work!

Type "intitle:" before a word or phrase, and Google will search for the word or phrase only in the titles of Web sites.

Examples:
intitle:astronomy
intitle:"alternative medicine"
intitle:judiciary

Type "site:" before a specific domain, and Google will run your search so that it only retrieves those kinds of web sites.

Examples:
site:gov grants
site:edu "alumni associations"
site:mil "air force"

Use Google as a calculator! Just be sure to put spaces on either side of the math functions symbols. Use + for addition, * for multiplication, - for subtraction, and / for division.

Examples:
24 * 16
52 / 7
128 + 39
365 - 87

The Google calculator will also do conversions! Just enter the type of info you have and the type of measurement to which you want it converted.

Examples:
100 lbs in kg
40 miles in km
100 yards in feet
31 days in hours

Exclude a particular word from a search by placing a hyphen before it. This can eliminate undesirable results when your search term relates to more than one topic.

Examples:
