Are you using Google to its full capability? Check out these
features. Copy/paste the separate examples into Google to see how they actually work! Type "intitle:" before a word or phrase, and Google will search for the word or phrase only in the titles of Web sites. Examples: intitle:astronomy intitle:"alternative medicine" intitle:judiciary Type "site:" before a specific domain, and Google will run your search so that it only retrieves those kinds of web sites. Examples: site:gov grants site:edu "alumni associations" site:mil "air force" Use Google as a calculator! Just be sure to put spaces on either side of the math functions symbols. Use + for addition, * for multiplication, - for subtraction, and / for division. Examples: 24 * 16 52 / 7 128 + 39 365 - 87 The Google calculator will also do conversions! Just enter the type of info you have and the type of measurement to which you want it converted. Examples: 100 lbs in kg 40 miles in km 100 yards in feet 31 days in hours Exclude a particular word from a search by placing a hyphen before it. This can eliminate undesirable results when your search term relates to more than one topic. Examples: rico -puerto vikings -minnesota Happy Googling! |
