on animal law and welfare: Various organizations and agencies related to animal law and welfare: Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the American Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (ASPCA), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. You can find a compilation of federal law re animals on the ASPCA federal law page. For pending federal and state legislation, see the HSUS Legislation page. AnimalLaw.com has a database of current and pending federal and state laws; AnimalLaw.info has a similar database -- on both sites, just use the pull-down menu to specify 'federal' or a specific state. Also see the library's Environmental Research Guide for direct links to some relevant acts and other resources.
