New Magistrate Judge for W.D. of Arkansas: Erin L. Setser

On October 5, 2009, Chief United States District Judge Jimm Larry Hendren swore in Erin L. Setser as United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Arkansas. Judge Setser's chambers will be located in the Fayetteville Division of the district. She takes a new seat that was created in response to the growth and increase in the number of cases filed in Western Arkansas.

Judge Setser was born in National City, California. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas in 1991 and her law degree from UALR School of Law in 1994.

After graduating from law school, she served a two-year term as a staff attorney for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis, where she was assigned to work for the Honorable Morris S. Arnold.

Judge Setser began her career with the Western District of Arkansas in 1996, when she was hired as the district's first pro se law clerk, working under the direction of former U.S. Magistrate Judges Beverly Stites Jones and Bobby E. Shepherd. From 1999 until her appointment to the bench, Judge Setser served as an elbow law clerk for Magistrate Judge Jones, U.S. District Judge Robert T. Dawson, and U.S. District Judge Jimm Larry Hendren.

Judge Setser will reside in Fayetteville. Welcome, Judge Setser!
