Judge McMillian Exhibit at Iowa Museum
An exhibit honoring the
late Circuit Judge
Theodore McMillian will
be on display at the
African American
Historical Museum and
Cultural Center in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa from October 16 until December
1. Judge McMillian was the first African
American to serve on the federal bench in the
seven states of the 8th Circuit, by appointment
to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit
in 1978. The display was prepared by the U.S.
Courts Library and is on loan to the Museum.
