Judge Bright Receives Certificate of Appreciation

The United States Department of State has presented United States Circuit Judge Myron H. Bright of Fargo with a certificate of appreciation for his participation and support of Department of State rule of law–related public diplomacy programs. The presentation was made at an informal reception for Judge Bright at Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

On behalf of the State Department, Judge Bright traveled to Latvia and Sweden in 2002 where he lectured at several law schools and exchanged views on law related matters with government officials, judges, university professors, local lawyers and law students.

In the fall of 2007, the State Department sponsored Judge Bright on a similar rule of law related visit to Middle East countries, including Israel, Jordan, and several of the states in the United Arab Emirates.

John C. Jasik, Jr., Senior Program Development Officer for the Rule of Law Issues, represented the State Department at the presentation.
