Bio: Katie Pappageorge, Library Clerk, St. Louis
I have not lived long enough for my biography to
really hold any interest, but I’ll try. Previously, I
worked at The Book House (a local independent
bookseller in a Victorian
house . . . with cats and a
ghost) and received a
bachelor’s degree in English
from Webster University. Like
many native St. Louisans, I am
disdainful when speaking of
my hometown and defensive when others speak
of it. I watch a lot of movies. When I can afford
to, I collect rare books, particularly those by or
about Edward Gorey, Evelyn Waugh, Buster
Keaton, and various cartoonists. I attempt to
write on occasion but immediately think better
of it. I am thrilled to be working at the 8th
Circuit Library, and my sister is thankful that I
am putting my organizational impulses to use at
work rather than at home.
