New Judge for Eastern District of Missouri:
Audrey G. Fleissig

The Senate confirmed Audrey Goldstein Fleissig as a U.S. District Court judge in Missouri’s Eastern District on June 7, 2010 — five months after she was nominated and three months after a Senate panel approved her without objection.

Judge Fleissig has served as a magistrate judge since August 2001. Before being named to the bench, Fleissig was the first woman to serve as a U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Missouri. She had been in the federal prosecutor’s office since 1991.

Judge Fleissig graduated from Washington University School of Law in 1980 where she is now an adjunct professor. Her first stint at teaching in the law school came in 1981.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, who submitted Fleissig’s name to the president, said, “Her dedication to public service is impressive and she enjoys a stellar reputation among the legal community.”

Congratulations, Judge Fleissig!
