The Evolving Federal Circuit Courts Library

The Evolving Library, an article published in the May 2010 issue of The Third Branch, reports on a study of federal circuit libraries and contains commentary from Circuit Librarians Ann Fessenden (8th Circuit), Eric Wade (9th Circuit), and Luis Lopez (2nd Circuit).

The article spotlights issues covered in the study and beyond, such as reduction in law book funding, inflation of legal subscription prices, migration to online resources, space, digitization and how librarians are keeping up with new technologies.

A worthwhile read, the study comes at a time when all types of libraries are witnessing a shift from the more traditional face to face services of a brick and mortar establishment, to those virtual and online.
