Judge Timothy J. Mahoney Retires

The Hon. Timothy J. Mahoney, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Nebraska, retired on January 31,
2014. Judge Mahoney received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Creighton University in 1967 and his law degree from Creighton University School of Law in 1972. He also served in the National Guard from 1967 to 1973.

He was in private practice at the Mahoney Jordan law firm in Boon, Iowa; Madrid, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska.
He was appointed as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Nebraska in 1985, and served as chief judge of the bankruptcy court from 1987 to 2008. In addition to his work on the bench he has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Creighton University School of Law.

Judge Mahoney plans to travel with his wife and volunteer as a CASA advocate with the Douglas County Juvenile Court. Congratulations, Judge Mahoney!
