Federal Register 2.0

July 26, 2010 marked the 75th anniversary of the Federal Register Act of 1935. In celebration of this milestone, the Office of the Federal Register has launched the experimental Federal Register 2.0 site:

Federal Register 2.0 offers improved navigation and search tools. The site also highlights popular and
newsworthy documents and features each agency’s significant rules. The new site displays documents published in the official print and online versions of the Federal Register in “articles” in a Web newspaper format. Six topical sections are covered: money, environment, world, sciences and technology, business and
industry, and health and public welfare.

The website is in “beta,” which means it is an unofficial prototype Web site, but the Office of the Federal Register hopes the new site will eventually be considered an official edition of the publication.
