New Magistrate Judge for
Western District of Missouri: Matt J. Whitworth

The United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri has appointed Matt J. Whitworth as a United States Magistrate Judge. He succeeds Magistrate Judge William A. Knox who retired in January. Judge Whitworth was sworn in Jan 14, 2010.

Matt Whitworth is a 1983 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law and a 1980 graduate of Baker University. He has worked as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Kansas City since 1988 and served as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division. He served as Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri until this appointment. Mr. Whitworth will sit primarily in the District’s Central Division in Jefferson City, Missouri.
