Former Circuit Executive Passes Away
We recently learned that Lester C. Goodchild,
former Circuit Executive for the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Eighth Circuit from 1980 to
1985, passed away on December 27, 2003, in
New York City.
Lester Goodchild pioneered the use of computers
in the circuit and produced the circuit’s first
annual report. He also created the structure for
the Judicial Council as well as for the historical
societies that operate within the circuit.
