Bio: Kathryn Ballard, Library Technician, Kansas City
My name is Kathryn Ballard. I
am very pleased to be a Library Technician for the
Kansas City 8 Circuit Library. Presently I work th
on Tuesdays and Thursdays processing new
materials, filing, fulfilling photocopy requests,
mail sorting and performing general collection
maintenance duties. In addition to working here,
I am also employed at the Kansas City Public
Library in their audio/visual department, where I
am a Library Technical Assistant I.
I got my start in libraries when I worked at the
Greenlease Library at Rockhurst University. For
most of the time I was in college, I worked
maintaining all reserve room materials,
processing overdue notices, checking in/out
books. I was also fortunate enough to assist in
writing the student training manual. When I
received my BS in Finance and Economics in
December of 2003, I decided to pursue my MLS.
I am presently enrolled at the University of
Missouri through their distance learning program
with the goal of graduating before I retire.
