As of January 1, 2004, Judge Jerry W. Venters became Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri.
On January 15, 2004, the Eastern District of Missouri held a celebration in honor of Judge E. Richard Webber's 25 years of service on the bench.
