New Magistrate Judge for District of Minnesota: Becky R. Thorson

On November 24, 2014, Becky R. Thorson was sworn in as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Minnesota. She began hearing cases on December 8. She replaces Magistrate Judge Jeanne J. Graham who retired on October 31.

Judge Thorson received her undergraduate degree from Hamline University and her law degree with honors from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1995.

She began her legal career with the firm of Greene Espel. In 2001 she joined the firm Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, where she has worked until this appointment. Her practice has focused on intellectual property litigation and business litigation.

In addition to her practice she has served as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law, where she taught pre-trial litigation.
