Retirement: Magistrate Judge David H. Young

U.S. Magistrate Judge David H. Young of the Eastern District of Arkansas retired on March 31, 2015, after nearly 30 years of service. He was appointed to the court on October 1, 1985.

He was born on March 14, 1953, in Malvern, Arkansas. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas in 1975, and with his law degree from the University of Arkansas Law School in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1978.

Judge Young entered law practice as an associate at Bridges Law Firm in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he worked from 1978-1980. He then served as law clerk to U.S. District Judge Henry Woods of the Eastern District of Arkansas from 1980-1985 before his appointment to the court.
