New Part-Time Magistrate Judge for District of South Dakota: Daneta Wollmann

On March 6, 2015, the District of South Dakota announced that Daneta Wollmann was sworn in to serve as a part-time U.S. Magistrate Judge in Rapid City.

Wollmann received her undergraduate degree in English from Purdue University in 2000 and her law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2003. She is licensed to practice law in South Dakota and California.

She began her legal career as an associate attorney at the Morman Law Firm in Sturgis, SD, practicing in the areas of plaintiff’s personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. She then worked as a Deputy States Attorney for Beadle County. In 2005, Wollmann joined the firm of Banks, Johnson, Kappelman, & Becker, where she focused on civil litigation, insurance defense, construction litigation, and business transactions.

She then worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Rapid City, SD, in the civil litigation division. Wollmann returned to the Banks Johnson law firm at the invitation to become partner where she worked until her appointment to the bench.
