On March 21, 2016, Norm Rosenbaum began work as the new Library Technician at the St. Louis Headquarters library.
Norm grew up in Colfax, Iowa (a/k/a the birthplace of James Norman Hall, co-author of the novel Mutiny on the Bounty.) He graduated from the University of Iowa, receiving a B.A. in Speech and Dramatic Art (Broadcasting and Film Division) in 1974 and a J.D. from the College of Law in 1977.
After law school, Norm moved to St. Louis, where he worked for more than 25 years in commercial real estate, negotiating shopping center leases, first at Brown Group, Inc. (now known as Caleres) and later at The DESCO Group (the real estate division of Schnuck Markets, Inc.).
In 2008, he embarked on a new career as a librarian and returned to college, enrolling in the University of Missouri’s School of Information Science and Learning Technologies, from which he received an M.A. in Library Science in 2012. Over the past few years, he has been a volunteer at the Missouri State Archives St. Louis and the St. Louis Jewish Community Archives.
Norm is a lifelong lover of books, an aficionado of Cards baseball and baseball cards, a first-generation Beatles fan, and a frequent participant in Trivia Nights throughout the St. Louis metro area.
Welcome, Mr. Rosenbaum!
