New Clerk of Court for Western District of Arkansas: Douglas F. Young

Chief District Judge P.K. Holmes, III, recently announced that Douglas F. Young was chosen as the next Clerk of Court for the Western District of Arkansas.

Young began working with the court on August 17, 2015. He will officially assume the position of Clerk of Court from Chris Johnson when Mr. Johnson retires at the end of September.

Young holds a B.A. degree from Westminster College, and B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Oklahoma State University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Doug and his wife are originally from northeast Oklahoma.

Prior to this appointment, Young served as Chief Deputy Clerk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He has 21 years of experience working in the federal judiciary, serving in various positions in the Northern District of Texas and in the Middle District of Alabama. Mr. Young has been involved in various national working groups--including the Next Generation CM/ECF Working Group, and brings valuable insights to the court.
