New Magistrate Judge for S.D. of Iowa:
Stephen B. Jackson

Iowa District Court Judge Stephen B. Jackson, Jr., of Cedar Rapids has been selected to assume the office of United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Iowa. Judge Jackson began service on February 2, 2015. He fills the vacancy created by Magistrate Judge Ross A. Walters’ retirement.

Judge Jackson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1988 and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1991. He began his legal career in private practice at the firm of Rudnick & Wolfe in Chicago, Illinois. In 1994 he joined his father’s practice, the Jackson Law Office, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2001 he became a partner in the firm, now known as Jackson & Jackson.

In 2010 he was appointed as a District Court Judge for the Sixth Judicial District of Iowa, where he has served until this appointment.
