New Magistrate Judge for E.D. of Missouri:
John M. Bodenhausen

Assistant U.S. Attorney John M. Bodenhausen was recently selected to be a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. He will replace Magistrate Judge Terry I. Adelman, who will retire in April 2015.

Judge Bodenhausen received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri in 1985, his master’s in electrical engineering in 1992, and his law degree from St. Louis University School of Law in 1998, where he graduated as Valedictorian.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Bodenhausen worked for more than ten years as an electrical engineer at Mc- Donnell Douglas and General Dynamics.

He began his legal career as a clerk for Circuit Judge David R. Hansen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. After completing his clerkship, he practiced patent law with the St. Louis firm of Senniger Powers.

Since 2002 he has been an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, where he currently serves as the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Crimes Coordinator and District Election Officer for the district. He has handled cases about intellectual property crimes, computer crimes, online fraud, credit card fraud, identity theft, and tax crimes.
