Project HERO Tree in St. Louis Library

In December the court staff in the Eastern District of Missouri again supported local homeless veterans with their generous contributions to Project HERO Tree, hosted by the U.S. Courts Library in St. Louis for the fourth year in a row.

Project HERO was launched in 2008 by the Department of Mental Health, the VA, and St. Louis’ St. Patrick Center to foster self-sufficiency and community integration by providing veterans with opportunities for housing, employment, and recovery services.

We are happy to report that Project HERO received enough socks, hats, work gloves, and personal care items (soap, toothpaste, lotion, deodorant, etc.) to fill eight tightly-packed boxes! St. Patrick Center staffer Jonathan Belcher expressed his appreciation for your continued generosity. He commented that the donated items are “like gold” to the homeless.

A big thank you to all who donated!
