When Circuit Judge Gerald W. Heaney passed away in 2010, Eighth Circuit Library Archivist Joan Voelker created a display in his honor. The display was featured at his memorial session. It consists of 5 panels depicting different stages in Judge Heaney’s life: the young man, the soldier, the citizen, the judge, the man.
The panels were recently framed and permanently hung in the federal courthouse in Duluth, Minnesota, where Judge Heaney sat on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals for nearly 40 years.
Congratulations to Joan for making permanent history in the Eighth Circuit!
