Watch Everything: a Judicial Memoir with a Point of View

 by Charles A. Shaw
Foreword by E. Richard Webber
iUniverse, 2013

The Honorable Charles A. Shaw, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri, released his autobiography, Watch Everything: a Judicial Memoir with a Point of View, in 2013.

Judge Shaw’s insightful and at times humorous memoir captures his difficult ascent as an African American growing up in segregated St. Louis, where his father warned him to “watch everything,” to a federal judgeship where he sees injustice built into the federal sentencing guidelines he is expected to follow.

Judge E. Richard Webber, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri, states in the foreword that, “This book reveals how a man of humble beginnings worked tirelessly, so others, under the rule of law, would believe the words, 'all men are created equal' have meaning, and no part of the American Dream should be foreclosed to anyone.”
