District of Minnesota Branch

2011 Annual Report of the District of Minnesota Branch
of the Historical Society of the
United States Courts in the Eighth Circuit

The District of Minnesota Branch worked with the Court's judges and staff to identify significant historic cases that had been litigated in the District of Minnesota for purposes of preserving the files in those cases for permanent storage in the National Archives. The Branch has also continued its longstanding project of preserving the Court's history through videotaped oral histories of its judges. The Branch recently recorded an oral history of Senior District Judge David Doty, and is in the process of making the arrangements to record the oral history of retired Judge James Rosenbaum. The Branch also continues to sponsor its very popular display on the Wilbur Foshay Case which is housed in the lobby of the Minneapolis courthouse.
